Nagas

Nagas

I will be teaching a class on the Nāgas, the divine beings, who are depicted as half-human, half-serpent. They are said to reside in the underworld or netherworld (Patala) or Nagaloka, and can change into fully human, fully serpent, or part-human forms. Often portrayed with human torsos and snake bodies, they are considered powerful beings with significant roles in Indian mythology and spiritual traditions. These serpent-human hybrids are known for their wisdom, shape-shifting abilities, and connection to water, nature, and subterranean realms. They are considered guardians of rivers, lakes, treasures, and cosmic balance, and appear in numerous myths, including the churning of the ocean.
in Hindu iconography, in most ancient temples and throughout the Hindu texts, we
find them appearing till they suddenly disappeared because they received a powerful curse that led them to not interact with humans for 5000 years.
Now that the 5000 years are coming to an end, we will meet these powerful beings who changed the course of human spiritual history.
We will journey to meet the Nagas, understand them and receive initiations and guidance from them.
