The Peruvian Andes rise nearly 23,000 feet, and some of these mountains are considered sacred guardians of a wisdom that comes from the Great Mother. The Quero’s relationship with the Earth, mountains and nature is sacred and shrines across the Andes have offerings of kintus (put in italics) made from 3 coca leaves, asking the sun, wind, and Great Spirit to help us in our ascent. In the Andean tradition the medicine people anchor their wisdom in stones. From the jungle they work with nature spirits (serpent, jaguar, humming bird and eagle). We will be studying the path of the Munay-Ki and their initiations. The Munay-Ki cultivate a relationship as much with the darkness as the light. We will delve into the Three Worlds and work with Quetzalcoatl, to enter the sacred flow with the river of life.
